Details of the scene remembered (square)

I was pondering Iron Photographer challenge 44 which asks:

1 - a window
2 - part of a human body
3 - square format

Whilst preparing the Harris shutter effect photo of a karate class running across the gym (imagined for this challenge) I checked the subtractive difference between two images. It pleases me that the window was emphasized by the inverse outline and a foreground foot remained clearly foot-like. Now I am wondering: is such manipulative trickery antithetical to the Iron Photographer ethos?
