(Subtractive filter HSE) Indoor Dash

Thiophene_ Guy

A karate class dashes across the gym.

The method below generates a Harris shutter effect image on a black background (static objects are removed from the image). The process can be conceived as subtracting two different Harris shutter effect images to remove the background.

Technical trivia
A modified subtractive filter composite giving a Harris shutter effect image on a black background was generated from three successive images:
- images were registered (compensate for camera movement)
- one R, G, or B color layer in image 1 was replaced with the corresponding layer from image 3
- a different color layer in image 2 was replaced with the corresponding layer from image 3
- the modified image 1 was subtracted from the modified image 2 (absolute difference)

The color of the "ghost" is determined by the two color layers containing the object that moves:
If it is in the Red and Blue layers it will be Magenta
If it is in the Red and Green layers it will be Yellow
If it is in the Green and Blue layers it will be Cyan
