Death Wears A Vest

Seldon Scott

St. Patricks Chapel Heysham. In a beautiful position, overlooking Morecambe Bay, the ruins of one of the oldest Christian monuments in Britain date from the 8th century. Some of these rock-cut graves may be even older. Perhaps not old enough to have accomodated St. Patrick himself though.

Whatever their age, we can be certain they were made for someone of great sanctity. An awful lot of effort went into carving these graves, especially when you consider the wealth of possible earth sites nearby.

I tried one for size and found it a little snug across the shoulders and too short. The view is great but not a comfortable resting place for me ;-)
