stay

waterlilysage

i love this chair. it's part of a set of 4 that my parents bought before my sister was born. i grew up with them at one table or another. brought two to college with me at some point. didn't really even notice their color until 10 or so years ago. they were just always the Chairs.

my mom told me that my dad refinished/painted them the strange sunny mustardy antique color. she thought it was kind of weird, but liked them. very early seventies, certainly. not a color that i would ever pick out, but i'd have them no other at this point. they would simply cease to be the Chairs.

they sit in my kitchen and we eat breakfast in them. they creak a little now (well, so do i, frankly), but they're still sturdy and strong.
