Maui moonlight

Eric Luck

Based on the thumbnail, I would probably not click on this photograph. My loss. It makes me ponder, again, all the wonderful photographs of yours that I have not seen because I was in a hurry or dismissed them only because of the thumbnail. That pains me. I am particularly enamored with the rim of moonlight along the cloud tops, the faintest hint of blue to the night sky, the twinkling stars at the top and the lights on Molokai on the right horizon. Many exposures I tried did not show these details because the moon was so bright. Being awake in the middle of the night sometimes has payoffs. Moments like this one are what keep me from being angry all the time about not sleeping. Part time anger is easier for others to deal with. I will always love this scene.
