Midnight at the Oasis

Along the San Andreas Fault in the midst of the high desert, water seeps up through cracks in the earth. As you view the gray foothills along the horizon, there are splotches of green where clusters of palm trees grow. The sun had gone down by the time we reached these oases, unfortunately. But we did manage to get out of the jeep and get a few shots. We were actually below the tree line in an area used for picnics during other jeep tours. It was cold, and quiet, and amazing.
