Although this vegetable dish does not keep food hot as long as pottery does, it can act as a covered dish, because the two parts fit together. However, one part has a carved knob, which can be turned and removed, so that instead of one covered dish, I have two matching open ones. That seems like a lot of effort for the designer to go through, but I think it's grand.
