The Envisioning

The weather was glorious. It couldn't have been any better. The sky was a luminating, translucent Blue, no, electra glide blue, like the color of the old harley davidson bikes.I had taken the train to the city of Leuven (louvain in French) early in the morning to walk around the city and take pictures.I'm more and more compelled to take potographs. It's as though I find it easier to view , expierience my world through my camera. My world can be ordened, framed of once again. The boundaries are clear.I came by this old, sporty looking gentleman who had just taken his bycicle and was about to go out for a ride (i'm just imagining this, it could well be that he had to go buy a loaf of bread or was returning home after a visit to his son )Because the old man was making ready to take of, I hastened my pace to pass him by, turned around my axis and pointed my camera towards him.He himself asked me if he should continue to walk, bike in hand, or that it was better for me if he posed and remained standing.I was kind of surprised...but told him to remain posed.I took several shots of this man and afterwards we started talking about his life and mine. This man had been an extra in a famous Belgian (Flemish) television sitcom for about 15 years !! Hence his "love" for the "camera" ! ;-)

I noticed that i'm not keeping up with my posting on Flickr as much as I used to do.I go out more and more.Roaming the streets, looking for that one photo.I've accumulated hundreds of photos by know and at first I wanted to post them all but I began to realize that it's not neccesarily about others viewing all my photos. It's about myself, my quest for beauty and what I'm happy with. The posting is just part of it, but it's not a goal on itself anymore.
