San Xavier Mission
Mike Palumbo
The San Xavier Mission in AZ is an example or old west meets old religion. This photo uses the two thirds rule in both verticle space and horizontal space.
Horizontally, the thirds are defined by lines created by the adobe wall and the roof line of the building with the kids occuping the second third.
Vertically, the building takes up two thirds of the space leaving a third for the open sky and trees.
It would be perfect but for that gate post right in the center dividing it both horizontally and vertically. Someday I'll photoshop that out.
