View On Black - Large

As an aside ; Music and photography are somehow interconnected.

This shot is taken in the vicinity of the neighbourhood known as "Het Eilandje" in the city of Antwerp, Belgium (The name "Het Eilandje" means "The Little Island" in Flemish/Dutch) I was going back to the centre of town when I noticed this Algerian or maybe Tunesian Man in his bright orange overalls sitting at a cafe table outside with a vase filled with flowers. The effect, the recognition was immediate and sudden. This was one of "The shots" I needed to make !
I approached this man carefully and asked him if I could take his photo but he refused politely - In my mind, I was extremely dissapointed, but I did not flaunter - I smiled politely and said ; " A great shame because the colors are absolutely Be-au-ti-full.The orange of the overall, the flowers, the whole setting is stunning. The man smiled and somethoing in him changed, he said..." Well, why not...go ahead then" I made sure I did not fiddle to long with my camera, as not to " exhaust" the man to much or upset him by pointing my camera to long at him.I had my photos.I asked him if I could shake his hand and thanked him.I said, enjoy your day to the two other people sitting outside and continued my path.A happier person.
