Photo of the Day - June 26, 2008

Peter Considine

So I got down to New York about 2 hours early for my meeting (which went quite well), so I spent some time wandering around the Wall Street area. The last time I was in that part of Manhattan, it was before the first Word Trade Center bombing in 1993, so obviously it's been a long time. While I was wandering around, I noticed a bit of ruckus outside the New York Stock Exchange building so I wandered over to see what was up. Turns out, President Arroyo of the Philippines was visiting the exchange before addressing the UN later in the day. I thought it would be safer to pretend to be just another tourist with a camera phone, so I snapped this pic. Otherwise, I got a bunch of pretty nice Polaroids, but I've been up since 5AM, so I'm going to have to scan them later to upload them.

I also spent most of the afternoon with a Flickr friend, the trés charmant Urban Gazelle. I spent most of the time talking about myself (she's quite adept at the Oprah treatment, I must say), but I did manage to learn a thing or two about her as well. =)
