View On Black - Large

I walked passed the cafe, kind of in a hurry, eager to shoot. The cafe door was open and the cafe had large bow windows on the streetside.I saw the couple sitting at shiny black tables on, what looked like, a fake leather bench. The cafe's interior looked somewhat high gloss seventies with a huge design chandelier hanging from the dark ceiling...And I walked on.I was only some 30 to 40 meters further when I decided to double back and take my chances.I walked in the cafe , ordered a cup of coffee and asked the bartender if It was allright for me to shoot some pics.He didn't object, as long as I didn't shoot any people that didn't want to be photographed. After some time I went over to talk to the couple. The man already had a few to many, at first he kind of declined being photographed but the longer I talked and the more I explained that I had come back especially for them, he didn't mind so much. The only thing he wanted to know was why I just hadn't taken a couple of photos without asking first and be done with it ?

I told him it had to do with respect.Respect for the people I wanted to photograph and their private space.
Often, by asking and giving people the information they need about what it is you do, by just talking with people and showing an interest, you get a lot of things done.
