A display of a popular fifties bar, american style ; exhuberant "Cartoonish" design, at the "Expo 58" exhibition held in the Cultural Centre of the city of Malines (Mechelen) Belgium.
As I had walked the streets in vain for nearly an hour or more, I decided to pay a visit to the exhibition because I had already heard of the many fifties paraphernalia and installations on display there.I was quite taken by the design of furniture and appliances, vases and toys.It must have been fun living in what looks like a decor out of a cartoon ;-) The fifties where after all an era of economic boom and a time where the future did look indeed : Golden.
