The old man, age 81 was busy to harvest his asparagus or rather he was about to do that when I saw him in his garden by his old farmhouse -the house, so he told me, dated back to the 1690's something and he knew all the generations who had lived there over a period of 500 years.The old man looked sturdy and shaped by life, like an old tree that bowes down to the wind.He asked me if he should call out his wife, aged 79, for me to take their picture.
After I had shot their picture the wife said goodbye and dissapeared back into the house.I talked for a little while and then moved on.
