steps into the canyon

There are over 1,000 steps to get all the way to the bottom of the canyon. I went only down to the first waterfall and the younger was dancing along next to me giving encouragement as I came back up.

We would reach a landing and she would race up to the next landing, tell me how many steps there were and we would have to name something for each step. (10 steps, first 10 presidents;7 wonders of the ancient world;12 apostles; 6 novels of Jane Austen;five pillars of Islam, etc).

When we got to the top we figured we had climbed about 100 steps in this manner. I teased her that she wanted to race down and do them again just to prove she could. Her eyes lit up and off she went. This was taken while I waited for her to get back up :)
