30/52 A Veteran's Life

Angie

I think it would be true to say that there is a lot of leaving in the life of a service member. Whether they ever deploy to a combat zone, they're constantly going someplace. To training, to a new duty station, to more training. I think that's one of the experiences they all have in common, regardless of branch of service, or the years they served. They're constantly leaving somthing they love behind. Be it parents, siblings, a wife, husband or child...a favorite place, job or time in life...a best friend. And the thing about leaving, you're never quite sure that you're going to get back to where you were. Often, even when you do, things are never quite the same.
So. A day late, and more than a dollar short, this is something I wanted to express for Veterans Day.

Thank you, to all that serve. May you have fair winds and following seas, and may you find your way home in the end.
