The adobe was built thick; the walls are over 4 feet in places in an attempt to withstand earthquakes. Unfortunately earthquakes combined with rain tended to make the walls tumble and melt. San Jose is one of the most historically accurate restorations of all the California Missions.

The fourth graders went on a field trip to our local Mission, Mission San Jose. I drove a passel of kids and then had myself a good time taking lots of pictures not of kids.
