Stayed with some friends in provence for a week or so. Sat outside a bar in one of those lovely hilltop villages, this elegant lady served us beers. She had a wonderful presence about her. One of the inner windows of her bar overlooked the valley below,I spent a while gazing out at the land basking in the evening glow. Somehow it was agreed that she would have her photo taken before the window,though she had no english and i couldnt remember any french from school She came to the window and looked out,smiled, gestured lovingly as if the valley were a part of her,then just looked towards the camera.
