Any Pot in a Storm

Seldon Scott

Last Thursday saw me on my holidays during the biggest snow storm to hit the Alps for years. The 36 hours or so after the Alpine sunset in the previous photo gave over a metre of snow in the French Alps, more in some places. It was great, if a little scary at times. Being at around 1600 metres we were right in the middle of a huge electrical storm and all night we could hear avalanches crashing down the mountain.

Despite the excitement there wasn't a great deal to see or photograph but during a break some chimney pots caught my attention. Kind of dull but whatcha gonna do? The alternative was white, a whole world of white.
