Matching Gloves and Library

Linus Gelber

A busy party, a raucous show, and a day-long shooting session with Lea in Crown Heights and Prospect Park - add in a stressy bit of a hurricane and a cheery pie-making Thanksgiving, and all of a sudden I've got a big strutting backlog with which to grapple. I think I even went out and shot some autumn trees in there, somewhere.

Anyway, Lea and I draw some warm attention as we shoot her striking unicorn outfit in front of the Brooklyn Public Library. There are waves and smiles, a couple of baffled tourists, the usual run of New Yorkers who yeah fine girl in a costume but I got a place to be, and a few transported and slightly terrified children (Lea is towering in these shoes and mask, and she's got a limited range of vision inside the rig). At first I'm a little skeptical about the location, but I'm wrong: it makes for a marvelous and unique image.
