my inconsiderate neighbours never clear away this sloping part of the road in front of their house because they only go out in their cars; it doesn't occur to them that some people use their legs and want to get down to the main road. And with all the cars rolling over it, the snow gets packed then it freezes into a skating-rink surface. I could not put one foot on it. Fortunately I can turn back and go down another way, but it takes longer.
