A month ago college faculty in the Province of Ontario went on strike after negotiations broke down between their union and the council representing the colleges. Like the proverbial calm before the storm, we were waiting till later this morning for the results of a forced vote on the last offer presented by management. Well, faculty overwhelmingly rejected it with an 86% rate and 95% of the membership voting. Now we await the coming storm over the weekend, both the back-to-work legislation and a Colorado Clipper. Dramatic for a Thursday Walk I know, but it is a reminder that we can turn away for a moment from the foibles of life and calmly walk with our camera and take photographs.
