This has to be the coolest and wettest month of May I've ever experienced. Even the time I rode a bike race in early May of '89 when the temperature dropped below freezing and a snowy white-out blew through the course, wasn't as bad. So, one pines for spring eternal to come. Of course it's all in our minds. Just doing something spring-like and it will change your outlook. Perhaps a Thursday photo walk will help.
