barbara ender

at the pier, the Cent-Suisses soldiers were forming a guard of honour for people disembarking from a steamboat. The spears (and all the other metalwork for the FĂȘte des Vignerons, including the crowns for the best winegrowers) were forged at the last smithy in Switzerland, in Chexbres.
