Banded Demoiselle flipping wings

This family member of the damselfly folds its wings on its back when he's not flying. So I had to catch it in full flight to see the beautiful wings. It probably took 60 tries to get these lucky shots. There was a group of three males, and one female (who are almost transparent, so even more difficult to get a good picture of) flying around the banks of the Kromme Rijn, near Utrecht. I finally realised that one of them was landing at almost these same spot every time. That's when I had him -after another twenty tries.
