Goose and Adolescent Goslings

JoLynne Martinez

All spring I've been documenting the growth and development of these goslings. First there were six. Then there were five ... then four. Then this week I didn't see them at all and feared the worst. To my great joy, when I walked to the park tonight, there they were with mamma and pappa goose. I think this is mamma leading them here. Pappa is taking the rear guard. They're bigger than when I last saw them, spreading their wings more, and some of them are beginning to develop the Canadian Goose black face mask. (As with all my work, constructive critique is welcome, and faves are appreciated.)
