Written in Stone

My Thursday Walk for Utata has a stone theme today. This is a Viking Era runestone at Stav. The inscription reads Auda raeisti staein at Harald, boanda sinn, ok Fastlaug at fadur sinn. In English Oda raised this stone in memory of Harald her husband, and Fastlög to her father. The stone was discovered by farm workers back in 1885. Today it stands on the old gravel road at the Stav village in Tungelsta.
