"Peace Statue

This statue was erected following a hui held in 1921 to discuss a set of prophesies made in 1881 by the Maori prophet, Paora Potangaroa.

Potangaroa made a number of conditions he felt would be met by the true church for Maori, and the 1921 hui discussed which church had met the criteria.

This statue was erected by Taiawhio Te Tau and other members of the largely Wairarapa-based Church of the Seven Rules of Jehovah."
