I find early October an interesting time. Summer is over, but sometimes the weather will remind you of it. Other times it's a premonition of the coming winter. If you have young children or work in education, things are settling in and the teaching and learning is now in earnest. In Canada, we have a Thanksgiving long-weekend culminating on the second Monday of the month. And for me, the treat is watching the trees change colour.
