Long Have I Watched the Streets of Galveston

I spotted this wizened Lion on the streets of Galveston at the Flickr Summer 2007 Meet-up.

He was on a building that (I think) was a 1900 Storm survivor and now a 2008 Ike survivor. I thought of a guardian watching the changes in the city over the years. He makes me think of Aslan from Narnia.

Special thanks go to my Flickr pals who kept me from being run over as i was lying in the street to capture this.

He also inspired my faces of Stone and Steel project.
