Stouchie

This young lad is returning home after a three kilometer walk to town. The bamboo pole is possibly needed to make a repair to the family home. Strapped around his side are three bamboo shoots. His mother will chop them up and add vegetables to make a soup for the family dinner. The land around this area is very fertile and there is an abundance of organic fruit and vegetables as well as streams with fish. The population, though poor, are therefore able to eat well.
