Painting with Light (silver duotone)

Another shot from Dingle Bay on the western coast of Ireland. The streams of light coming through the clouds created some amazing beams of light and patterns on the water.

Silver duotone created from a scanned film negative using the power retouche tone conversion plug-in. Film grain was added to provide texture to the clouds and help bring out the beams of light after noise reduction.

Note: This picture was "replaced" on 12/5/06. When I had run a test print of this shot I noticed that the lighting on the water was completely blown out. Some additional post processing occurred to bring back some of the detail in the highlights.
