I'm fairly sure this is upstairs. most of the good light was upstairs. the building had been unused - but used - for a fair amount of time. Even though it had been left to decay by most of the world, people kept on coming in. Couldn't resist the draw. Or the mysteries. Or simple curiosity. But it was clear this building is still very alive as it was being disregarded in the everyday world. People kept on coming in and doing things and experiencing, and left behind their marks.
