Blue Sky Above

Josh Briscoe

Blogged in January

These silhouettes against a dark blue sky have a very West Virginian feel about them. There's something distinct and Vandalian about a house tucked in amongst the trees. A day winding down. You can almost smell the pinto beans and cornbread. This is where I've grown up, and I love it. It always stuns me to find people who hate it here. But I guess it's easy to have your view clouded by malpractice insurance or lack of jobs or any number of other priorities. But if you look around, you'll see that beauty makes its home in the hills and trees of West Virginia.
