Sometimes when you are wandering through unfamiliar grounds the universe writes you a note to say that kindred spirits are close by.

The university, by the way, is utterly gorgeous. Gothic and green and full of unexpected delights like a pond full of baby ducks and turtles.

Chicago in general appears to be swarming with wasps, hornets, and monarchs this time of year. Our favorites were the monarchs. By a mile.
