red dress

Rachel Irving

I'm telling you now baby. I thought my life was O Ver. It had been boring for a really long time, like forever, felt like I'd been absolutely stuffed at the back of that stinky charity shop since the day it had opened. Problem is I do not look anything on a bloody wire coathanger, I need to be fleshed out. Suddenly there you were, all jiggling with Saturday morning in Springtime, a can of Red Bull in one hand, and a teensy red phone in the other. I knew it was a phone because of how you were screaming into it. "Carrieeee I've found it, I... have... found... THE... perfect... Dress."

Oh baby, I got to say, we were totally, absolutely, perfectly fabulous together. Swirly, spinny, clingy, plunging and hugging, all Summer we turned heads. We were fit, had the time of our lives . We danced, we partied, we were never apart. Until he came along.

There he was with his "I'm so retro" black 501's, you're a sucker for that retro, you are, I should know. Well he got us apart quick enough.

It was alright for a bit, he never stole the limelight, but it's September now. You'll stick me away for the Winter. He's still in the 501's, but baby, you'll be wearing those stretchy maternity jeans. Next Summer is just like, out of the question, yeah?
