Goodbye Tangguh, Goodbye Sahabatku

My employment contract has been completed and I will be leaving the project site tomorrow - 30 November 2006. My co-staffs - Marino, Rahmat, Hadi, in Cost and Planning Department invited me yesterday to go around the project area for the last time.

I will not deny the happiness of leaving the area which we described, during the initial stage, as a place worse than a prison.

But I will not deny also the fact that, somehow, my leaving here brings sadness as I learned to like staying here more than staying in the city.... that during my 11-month stay here, I had met several persons whom I considered now as friends...friends who had helped me keep going in this most isolated place in Indonesia.

Oh the sadness of separating yourself from the people you have loved....
