Sense of Place

I found myself really stumped about how to approach Utata's abstract project this weekend. The images folks have been creating are really, really cool. Unfortunately, my creative energies were totally sapped by a nasty cold that sprang on me Saturday evening. It hasn't yet let me out of its clutches...so, I'm submitting this photo which has been languishing on my hard drive.

I'm choosing to follow saraeigen's definition of abstract as something that refers to the object it has abstracted, or rendered strange, or taken apart and recomposed in some way, rather than as something non-representational, or pure form.

(The effect you see in this image was created by zooming in on the subject while the shutter was open. This photo is another version of Vertigo, which was created by turning the camera back and forth while the shutter was open. )
