Eugen, 80 and Meida, 76. And back to my grandparents on the last day of my visit. Something in their pose strikes me as fitting: after 55 years of marriage, they are now preparing for what they know is inevitably approaching. They have long ago stopped worrying about their age, and have both found their own way of taking each day as it comes. They have realized that the horizon is much closer than it ever seemed before; each looking in their own direction, at the landscapes that they’ve left behind, and the unknown waters they’re about to enter…
