Collection-Saudi Handicrafts, Bedouin Coffeepots

wolftracker

The current major exhibit at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum is made up of the collections of local residents. This collection was donated by a woman who lived in Saudi Arabia for at least 10 years and collected hand-crafted goods with an emphasis on those created by Bedouin tribespeople.

I liked these coffeepots because they were utterly everyday. They don't exoticize Bedouin life in the way most of the other objects did; they were simple, but beautiful.
