I put the bottle up on the desk and poured myself another slug. I leered at him above the glass "you don't approve of drinking whiskey, do you?"

Rachel Irving

The title is almost a quote from Raymond Chandler's "The Little Sister" with his "her" switched for a "him". I heard a sci-fi thriller podcast recently called "Men are Trouble" by PATRICK JAMES KELLY. The protagonist was a private eye in a future where there are no men. It started me thinking about how much fun it would be to create images of a female Marlowe, and not just because I like the taste of single malt. What is missing in this picture is a cigarette and an overflowing ashtray, I guess Ms Marlowe likes to savour her whiskey and cigarettes would just complicate the flavour.
