Nàdurra

David Elliott

My wife brought me back this rare "Nàdurra" variety of The Glenlivet Scotch from a recent trip to Scotland. Nàdurra means natural in the Gaelic and this has been aged 16 years in American oak bourbon casks and is unfiltered.* It has a deeper colour, nose and flavour than regular Glenlivet.

Sublime.

* cold-filtering removes compounds that cause hazing when served "on the rocks" but purists say it removes some of the flavour. No matter - none of this stuff will ever see an icecube!
