Duct Tape

Larry Miller

Champeen fiddler Rudy Darling, of Past Due and Playable, www.pastdueandplayable.com/, entertains the fair crowd with his duct tape song and duct tape clothing.

1. I got to thinking the other day about this modern life of ease,
How things we never used to have are today's necessitites.
And the thing I'm really stuck on, keeps my life from falling apart
Has the lovely name of duct tape, the adhesive of my heart.

2. I've seen it used most everywhere, on raincoats, hats, and shoes,
Car windows, luggage, microphones, drainpipes, toys and kazoos,
On shower curtains, garden hose, on books and tools and car doors,
On sleeping bags and backpacks, holding carpets down to floors.
(Note: I have done most of these myself)

Bridge: Duct tape (where'd you come from, where'd you go?)
Duct tape (where'd you come from, Duct Tape Joe?)
Gonna have a ball with that silver fix-it-all
And stick around 'til the day I die.

3. If I was a doctor, I'd tape up broken toes
I'd tape in organ transplants, tape up your bloody nose.
For mending lacerations, duct tape is in its glory,
And for stopping diarrhea, ... well, that's another story.

and so on.....
