Vancouver International Airport, a weekday night. The big jumbos have not yet arrived, and the domestic flights have all left (save for the midnight red-eyes).

An uneasy quiet descends on the terminal. Whereas a few hours ago, there were hundreds of people patiently (and not so patiently) waiting for their turn at the counter, now the area stands completely still.
