Sometimes You Have to Get Out and Push

Caryn Stein

There's something inherently simple and inviting about toy cars -- whether you prefer Matchbox or Hot Wheels -- the array of colors, designs and models draws in the eye, then your inner child quickly follows. One car can be the basis of an interesting story ... two or more and you invariably have a race. From a pocket to an orange plastic racetrack, from a sandbox to a sidewalk -- these little cars define and hold the basic joys of our youth, flood us with memories and put a smile on our faces as we can't help reaching down to zoom along in 1:64 scale.
