In 1955, Elvis was still alive, man had yet to walk on the moon, Thunderbirds (like this one) were king, and tires had this cool little white stripes. (White stripes were not yet, you see, the name of a band.) People dressed up tires, like they were wearing little tuxedos. They got dressed up like they were going out or something. No plain jane black for these puppies.
