Clifford's Compass

This is my grandfather's compass. He did many things in his life and one of them was to be one of the primary surveyors of the Great Lakes in the 1930s. He used this compass as part of that work. He died of lung cancer when I was very young and my memories of him are fleeting at best. It feels good to hold it.
