Handles with Care

Linus Gelber

Our Utata project of the moment is a simple one - go for a walk. Bring the camera. See what comes of it. The walk is technically supposed to happen Thursday morning, but I don't see the suggestion until Thursday afternoon, so it gets bumped to Friday.

I'm fooling around with perspective on the steps of the St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church. As I shoot these pictures, immediately to my left a teenage girl is working industriously on a too-cool-for-school boy of similar age. He's playing with something on his cell phone, not looking at her, and they are both smoking. She clearly thinks his aloofness is something she can conquer; to me it looks like he's too nervous to think of anything to say. Ah, the days.

Tech specs: Canon Digital Rebel XT, 1/250 second, f/8, ISO 100, 50mm lens.
