All the grand old hotels had these elaborate brass mail slots on every floor and on the bottom, this massive ornate door. Over the years this box at the Chateau Laurier has received letters to kings and queens and presidents, wives and sweethearts and secret mistresses. It has contained intrigues and scandal, hope and sorrow, all treated with the same solemnity - its the Royal Mail.
