Door #1

Linus Gelber

Old churches turn stark and strange in darkness, and this one is no different.

The Marienkirche, or Church of St. Mary, was probably built in the early 1200's, give or take. It was known to be in use by 1294 and has been damaged, rebuilt and expanded in the intervening wars and centuries.

This image has been spotted as high as #125 on the Flickr daily Interestingness charts.

Those of you alarmed at the comments below, take heart. The Delete Me! and Delete Me Uncensored groups are a Flickr game involving over-harsh criticisms of photos submitted to the group pools - a kind of voluntary insult circle. The comments are meant to be rude and super-critical. I get to play rough with the other folks as well, so it's a team sport of sorts.
